“And he who was seated on the throne said,
‘Behold, I am making all things new.’” (Revelation 21:5)

When evil rules and chaos reigns
And sanguine fades like morning dew,
The only hope that then remains:
“Behold, I shall make all things new!”

When all the world runs cold with fear
Benighted in what good to do
The only call we’ll fain to hear:
“Behold, I shall make all things new!”

When anguished souls long for the grave
With scars and wounds we can’t undo,
The only words we’ll sorely crave:
“Behold, I shall make all things new!”

When tyrants laugh to torture men,
Integrity is found in few,
The only voice we’ll covet then:
“Behold, I shall make all things new!”

When war imports the maelstrom
Where gloom and carnage rendezvous,
The only wish we’ll cry to come:
“Behold, I shall make all things new!”

Take heart, O soul, there’s hope today,
A peace avails you never knew,
A higher truth when you do pray:
“Behold, I shall make all things new!”

Yea, now your souls can have such start,
Today, can feel such hope in you,
When Christ comes in and tells your heart:
“Behold, I shall make all things new!”
